Obedience Sessions
Every dog is different. Your training plan should be too.
Private Obedience sessions give you and your dog the full attention of a certified trainer in a distraction-managed, one-on-one setting. We assess where your dog is, identify the gaps, and build a training plan that’s efficient, positive, and actually fun. Whether your dog has never seen a sit or you’re proofing off-leash recall, we meet you exactly where you are.
Sessions are available at our training facility or can be arranged on-location. Packages of multiple sessions are available and recommended for best results.
Ideal for: Puppies needing a head start, Dogs who struggle in group settings, Owners with specific skill goals, Preparing for CGC, competition, or therapy dog certification.
Behavior Consultations
Understanding why your dog does what they do – and building a path forward.
Behavior challenges can feel overwhelming, isolating, and even heartbreaking. Whether your dog is reactive on leash, fearful of strangers, struggling with resource guarding, or experiencing separation anxiety, you are not alone – and there is a path forward.
Our Behavior Consultations begin with a thorough assessment of your dog’s history, triggers, and current behavior patterns. From there, we build a management and modification plan that’s grounded in the science of behavior change and designed to fit your real life.
We address: Leash reactivity (dogs and/or people), Fear and anxiety, Resource guarding, Separation anxiety, Aggression (intra-household and toward strangers), Compulsive behaviors, General “difficult dog” challenges.
Note: Behavior modification takes time, consistency, and patience. We’ll be straightforward with you about what’s realistic – and we’ll be with you every step of the way.
Phone & Virtual Consultations
Professional guidance wherever you are.
Not every training question requires a drive across town. Our Phone and Virtual Consultations bring expert coaching directly to you via phone or video call – ideal for initial assessments, follow-up coaching between in-person sessions, or owners who need guidance from a distance.
Virtual sessions are just as effective as in-person for many behavior and training questions, and they allow us to see your dog in their actual environment – which often tells us more than a facility session would.
Virtual sessions are perfect for: Behavior assessment before committing to a program, Remote clients outside our area, Follow-up support between in-person sessions, Owners with mobility or transportation limitations, Quick questions and guidance from an expert.
What to Expect
What Happens in a Private Session
We Assess
Every first session starts with understanding your dog – their history, environment, triggers, and what you want to accomplish. No assumptions, no shortcuts.
We Build a Plan
Based on what we learn, we create a customized training or behavior modification plan. You’ll know exactly what we’re working on and why.
We Work Together
Sessions are hands-on and collaborative. You’ll leave every session with clear homework, realistic expectations, and confidence in what to do next.
We Adjust As Needed
Dogs change. Life changes. We revisit the plan regularly and adapt – because training isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it shouldn’t stop being useful when things evolve.
We’ll be straightforward with you
Behavior change takes time, consistency, and patience – and we won’t pretend otherwise. We’ll give you a realistic picture of what progress looks like for your dog, celebrate the wins along the way, and be with you every step of the process. You’re not alone in this.

FAQs
What is the difference between private training and behavior consultations?
Private lessons can take place in your home or in our studio and typically focus on obedience exercises and general training. Behavioral consultations are held in the environment where the behaviors are actually occurring—most often the dog’s home, neighborhood or even virtually! These consultations vary widely and may address separation anxiety, aggression toward dogs or people, leash reactivity, fear‑based anxieties, and more. The number of recommended sessions depends on the severity of the issue and the level of owner commitment.
My dog is aggressive. Can you still help?
Yes! Aggression is one of the behaviors we address through Behavior Consultations. We start with a thorough assessment, sometimes virtually, and build a safety-first management and modification plan custom to your dog.
Is virtual training effective?
Absolutely! In many cases, virtual sessions are even more effective than facility training because we see your dog right at home, where behaviors naturally occur. If we feel in‑person sessions would serve you better, we’ll let you know.
What if I have to cancel my private session?
Our Behavior Specialists are in high demand and cancelling last minute leaves them with an open calendar. Private sessions with less than 24 hours-notice will be charged a $40 late cancellation fee.
