FAQ
We answered your questions below!
General
Which dog training program is right for my dog?
The best program depends on your dog’s age, personality, training goals, and your schedule. Group classes are great for social learning and obedience skills, while private training offers personalized coaching. Day Training is ideal for busy owners who want professional help, and Playroom Adventures provide enrichment and exercise in a safe indoor environment. If you’re unsure where to start, our team can help you choose the best fit.
What age should my dog start training?
Dogs can begin training at almost any age. Puppies benefit from early socialization and foundational skills, while adolescent and adult dogs can learn new behaviors and improve existing ones. Whether you have a new puppy or an older dog, we offer programs designed to meet your dog’s individual needs.
Do you use positive reinforcement training methods?
Yes! We use science-based, positive reinforcement training methods that focus on rewarding desired behaviors. Our goal is to help dogs learn while building confidence, trust, and a stronger relationship with their families.
Can I combine different training services?
Absolutely. Many clients participate in multiple programs to achieve their goals. For example, a dog may attend group classes while also participating in Day Training, or receive private training sessions to address specific behavior concerns. We can recommend a customized training plan based on your dog’s needs.
Do you offer dog training for behavior problems?
Yes. We work with dogs experiencing common behavior challenges such as leash pulling, jumping, barking, reactivity, impulse control issues, and other unwanted behaviors. Private training is often the best option for behavior-specific concerns because it allows us to create a personalized training plan for your dog and family.
Are your trainers certified?
Yes. Unlike much of the dog training industry, which isn’t regulated or required to have formal certification, every trainer at Anything Is Pawzible holds a certification and participates in ongoing continuing education based in behavioral science.
How do I get started with dog training?
Getting started is easy. Once you figure out the class you’d like to register for, proceed to our registration page. Fill out all the information and we will be in touch!
Group Classes
Who can participate in group classes?
We encourage ALL family members to get involved and join us (children 7 and older). This gives everyone the opportunity to practice new skills with the guidance of our experienced staff. We recommend that one person takes the lead each class to minimize your dog’s potential confusion.
What vaccinations are required for group classes?
Puppies under five months need to have started their DHLPP series (it doesn’t need to be complete) and Bordetella is recommended, but not required. All other dogs over five months of age require DHLPP series to be completed, current rabies vaccination and a clear fecal within the last year before attending a group class.
What if I have to miss a class?
Make‑ups are offered when possible, but space is limited, and we can’t always guarantee availability. Please try your best to attend your scheduled class, and reach out to your instructor right away if you need a different time—they’ll help you explore any openings that may work.
Are children allowed to participate in group classes?
Well-behaved children over seven years of age are welcome to join our group classes.
How many dogs are in group classes?
We try to limit our class size to 7 dogs/puppies or less. We want to give our clients as much individual attention as possible and limit the distractions to make sure we set your dogs up for a successful training experience!
What about class cancellations and refunds?
We require seven days’ advance notice prior to the start of your class for a full refund or to transfer into another class. Because class sizes are very limited, we must be able to fill your spot in order to accommodate a refund or a schedule change. We will do our best to fill your spot with less notice, but refunds or transfers can only be processed if we are able to do so.
Do you offer board and train or "boot camp" style training?
While we do not offer “boot camp” boarding at Anything Is Pawzible. We do offer drop-off and in-home “Proxy” training! Our day training program is designed for dog owners who want high-quality, personalized training without the time commitment of doing it all themselves. While you’re busy with your day, our certified trainers will step in as your trusted proxy—providing expert guidance and structured training tailored specifically to your dog.
What methods will you use to train my dog?
We use positive reinforcement to inspire your dog to learn and enjoy the process. Rewards may include treats, enthusiastic praise, favorite toys, or time with other dogs.
Private Training
What is the difference between private training and behavior consultations?
Private lessons can take place in your home or in our studio and typically focus on obedience exercises and general training. Behavioral consultations are held in the environment where the behaviors are actually occurring—most often the dog’s home, neighborhood or even virtually! These consultations vary widely and may address separation anxiety, aggression toward dogs or people, leash reactivity, fear‑based anxieties, and more. The number of recommended sessions depends on the severity of the issue and the level of owner commitment.
My dog is aggressive. Can you still help?
Yes! Aggression is one of the behaviors we address through Behavior Consultations. We start with a thorough assessment, sometimes virtually, and build a safety-first management and modification plan custom to your dog.
Is virtual training effective?
Absolutely! In many cases, virtual sessions are even more effective than facility training because we see your dog right at home, where behaviors naturally occur. If we feel in‑person sessions would serve you better, we’ll let you know.
What if I have to cancel my private session?
Our Behavior Specialists are in high demand and cancelling last minute leaves them with an open calendar. Private sessions with less than 24 hours-notice will be charged a $40 late cancellation fee.
